The Sturgis Library located on historic 6A in Barnstable, Massachusetts is the oldest structure in the United States housing a public library. The property was built in 1644 and is still open to the public. The library has an extensive archive collection of Cape Cod history, genealogy and maritime resources.

During an extensive exterior renovation of the library in 2007, the craftsmen at Seaport Shutter were hired to manufacture custom black exterior traditional louvered shutters that mirrored the original shutters that once graced the building.
