54 Orange Street on Nantucket is an 1830’s Greek revival home and is a timeless private property. The home was built by Captain Charles Grant, remembered as one of the most successful whaling captains of his time, who made more money than any other whaling captain on Nantucket. He was also an incredibly generous man who died poor, as he gave away a lot of his wealth to those in need.

In 2024, the craftsmen at Seaport Shutter were hired to manufacture and install custom exterior shutters to enhance the beauty of the 1800’s property. The cedar shutters are in keeping with the history and architecture of the building. Many architectural details are still intact today, including the stately columns.
